Amazingly, the only games listed in Amazon's official Prime Day deals are on PS5 games. That's surprising because we've hardly seen any discounts on PlayStation 5 games at all. The console, which came out last November, has been tough to find, selling out almost the instant it comes into stock at any given retailer. And with the PS5's launch lineup being so popular, retailers haven't had much reason to drop prices from their $69.99 list price.
But now a handful of PS5 games are on sale for $49.99 -- a great deal, considering this is the first time we've seen any discounts on titles like Demon's Souls and The Nioh Collection.
Even if you don't have a PS5, you can still score great deals on a number of PS4 games, including The Last of Us Part II, Assassin's Creed Valhalla, and Ghost of Tsushima. All of those games look and run fantastically on PS4, but even better on PS5, if you pick one up down the line. Better yet, since they're not official Prime Day deals, anyone can take advantage of them, whether you have a Prime membership or not.
PS5 Prime Day Deals
As you can see above, you can save some sweet cash on PS5 games. But don't expect to see any discounts on the PS5 console itself. That thing won't likely see a price drop until long after it's readily available to anyone who wants one. Which hasn't happened yet!
When Is Prime Day?
Prime Day is a two-day event that runs June 21 - 22. Here's when Prime Day starts and stops:
- Prime Day Begins - June 21 at 12:01 a.m. PT / 3:02 a.m. ET
- Prime Day Ends - June 22 at 11:59 p.m. PT / June 23 at 2:59 a.m. ET
Prime Membership: Start a 30-Day Free Trial
The one big catch for Prime Day is that, to get any of the discounts, you have to be a Prime member. New members can take advantage of a 30-day free trial. That unlocks all of the Prime Day deals, along with all the other benefits, like free shipping and access to Prime Video and Prime Music. And if you don't want to continue your subscription, you can cancel before the trial is up, and you won't pay a dime.
If you've already taken advantage of the free trial, you can subscribe to Prime for a month for $12.99. Just make sure to cancel before it auto-renews if you don't want to continue.
