Really my main takeaway is kind of just finding it weird that someone opted to use a non-shiny Flutter Mane given how trivial it is to shiny hunt.

If anyone's unaware all you have to do is use a Ghost sandwich and go to the bottom of Area Zero during the daytime. Any non-shiny ones will instantly despawn and nothing else will show up so you can reliably get multiple in one swing through.

Either way, should be a neat giveout for Violet players at least. Personally I have a Flutter Mane I use all the time, gotten rather attached to it.

Has become one of my favourite pokemon in general.

@BrazillianCara That makes two of us. The "turn it green" variant of Shiny is my second least favorite, ranking right down there with "barely any differentiation from the original" (here's looking at you, Tandemaus).

tell ya what gamefreak, ill bite once you fix the game. Despite the fact that you dont have any incentive to, i would go crazy if youd really put some elbow grease into your games rather than having the hutzpah to ask for 60$+ (dlc) for the really cool games youre selling at the price point theyre at! You have so much money, please USE it! I get it, no one likes that one guy who comes into the conversation with little relevant prompt with guns a'blazin about some garbage no one cares about anymore. It seems IM that guy right now, which i dont know how i feel about but here we are. I can really relate with @Arehexes and @Chocobo_Shepherd; if its fun then why bother complaining? Ive been a pokemon fan my whole life, so its not like im an unseasoned onlooker. I just know that they can do so much more, so why not demand it? Honestly, i kinda envy you guys. I really miss being a part of the pokemon hype cycle, especially since arceus gave me a taste of what i knew they had in them all along. I just wish they could make games that reflect their level of dev, money, and ip power.

I do, and so do thousands of others. Being a bit cocky and arrogant there, aren't ya? I know it's ''cool'' to hate on Scarlet and Violet, but I thought people left this childish behaviour behind in 2023.. Guess not.

Still my favourite Pokémon games to date, finally beating out Black and White too.

@epicgamner been playing Pokemon since Blue was released in the states. Buggy back then as well, which is saying something since we had the third fixed version. You talk about the DLC, but I guess you are ok with third versions (Which cost the same price of the game before it in that generation. At least the DLC is half the price and doesn't require me to start my game over) which Game Freaks admits were to add what they couldn't before (or having to buy different "Versions" for a complete dex. Which when MegaMan Battle Network pulled that stunt people were pissed.). Heck even Yellow is a legitimate cash grab for the anime. Don't misconstrued my point though, Scarlet and Violet has issues. All these pokemon games have a lot of issues. People begged and cried for console pokemon games, and well now you get the full buggy experience on the TV. To be honest you are a unseasoned onlooker. Because the current state of pokemon has always been some level of screwed up.

My comment is about the smug ass attitude of "Who the hell plays a game I don't like".

Scarlet and Violet aren't my favorite Pokémon games. (Too many technical issues) But I still enjoy playing the games.

My favorite Pokémon game is Legends Arceus. The nearly endless freedom it gives (after the long introduction) and it's basically the Pokémon game I wanted since I started playing with Yellow.

It’s never been perfect but these past 2 gens have been ROUGH in comparison even to what was on the 3ds! Seriously, I meant no hard feelings. These distributions just don't have the same allure as the ones back in the old days. Fluttermane isn't that hard to get and it not being shiny gives people very little incentive to get it. Or am I missing something?

These kind of distributions have been around for years and not just in this franchise. They're not about the pokemon, they're about highlighting a specific competeition or even competitor. It might be nice to see a competition you participated in get a commemorative 'mon

@epicgamner I definitely have two minds when it comes to the modern Pokemon games. one part absolutely knows that they can be better, shoulder be better, and that there is no valid excuse why they can't be better. the other part of me knows that they still provide a fun experience that is one of my favorite in all of gaming and that I truly can't get anywhere else.

both of those thoughts coexist comfortably in my mind.

I keep seeing these articles and then forgetting to log in to get the addition. Thank god for random trades - that's how I get back up to speed, especially without the DLC.

@HandheldHaunter I had no knowledge going into this one other than 'open world'. Such a pleasant refresher to the series. I do wish that the towns and NPCs had a little more detail. The city and people side of the game does not feel nearly as alive as in the previous versions. Although this one was a huge leap, so maybe the next Pokemon games will scale beyond!

@MsMaestroon Reinvigorated my love for hunting the wee buggers down. Usually I just catch my team and go through the motions but this was genuinely fun again. 100%Agree about the towns. I just rode up got my supplies and left them rather quickly.

I went into this game after the bloodbath with the bugs, glitches etc, and I surprisingly enjoyed it more than I thought I would.

@Pillowpants They hand out battle ready Pokemon for competetive play, which can be a chore to train yourself in-game.

@OctolingKing13 I just started playing, bought it in japan for very cheap. And I must say, I thought it would be awful with all the complaints about it I read online, but it's really not, I'm having a blast, it's very open.

Maybe it is super improved since its release, but I'm liking it way more than I liked Sword/Shield
