PLAYSTATION 5 - WHAT WE KNOW SO FAR

It’s one of the most highly anticipated gaming consoles of all time, and now we may finally have a launch date for the PlayStation 5.

While Sony has previously revealed that the console will go on sale in ‘Holiday 2020’, a new report suggests that we’ll be ‘officially introduced’ to the PS5 slightly earlier than that.

The report, by LetsGoDigital, suggests that the PS5 will got on sale on November 20, 2020.

LetsGoDigital points to a tweet by PSErebus, which not only suggests this early launch date, but also gives us a hint at the price for the console.

The tweet said: “Sony Interactive Entertainment will launch PlayStation5 in several countries in the holiday season of 2020 and will make PlayStation5  available in North America on November 20, 2020 at a recommended retail price (RRP) of $499.”

While November 2020 is still a while away, the report indicates that Sony could share further details on the console at the E3 conference in June.

PlayStation was notably absent from E3 2019, but cSony Interactive Entertainment chairman Shawn Layden hinted that the tech giant could attend next year.

Speaking to GameInformer, he said: “Just because PlayStation is not at E3 2019 doesn't mean we won't be there in 2020.”
